Return to Golf

OK...lets discuss the important stuff.  When can I play golf doc?  The final answer largely depends on the extent of your injury and your surgery however Dr. Brady does give you some specific guidelines.  In the worst case scenario - such as a large rotator cuff repair, the return to golf schedule is as follows:

  • First 6 weeks - nothing except a sling

  • Second 6 weeks - putting allowed

  • Third 6 weeks - greenside chipping

  • Weeks 18 to 21 - chipping from 40 yards or so (1/2 swing)

  • Weeks 22 - 25 - short game - 90 yards in (3/4 swing)

  • After 25 weeks - Full swing - Get out that Driver!!!

If you stick to this regimen, not only will your shoulder likely heal very well...but your short game should be awesome!!!
